How hypnotherapy works
What is clinical hypnotherapy?
Clinical hypnotherapy is a gentle, relaxing form of therapy that can help you change the way you think, feel and respond to life's challenges. I guide you into a deeply relaxed, focused state. You remain awake, aware and in control throughout, and you are never made to do anything against your wishes. This state can make it easier to step back from unhelpful thoughts, habits and patterns and begin developing more positive responses.
You can be reassured that
You don't lose control
You don't have to reveal secrets
You stay aware of what is happening
You can stop the session whenever you wish
Hypnosis isn't sleep
You cannot be made to do anything against your will
A typical journey
- Consultation. Understanding what brings you to therapy.
- Assessment. Exploring relevant background, circumstances and goals.
- Therapy. Using appropriate therapeutic and hypnotic techniques, tailored to you.
Hypnotherapy is not a replacement for medical or psychiatric treatment where this is needed, and results vary from person to person. For many people it can be a valuable tool for positive change.
